Punctuality is of utmost value and importance in any business set up. I personally feel many folks do not comprehend this vital essence. The profits of the company are directly proportional to the man-hours or man days put in by each employee. It also depends on the time taken as off by the employees. When the productivity reduces, the cash flow also is slackened. Every employer needs to ensure that the employees would be present at their workplace everyday at the accurate time.
Every organization has a personnel department. The personnel department ensures the attendance of these workers. They maintain the time in and time out of each employee. The personnel department also maintains the leave records, late time statements of each employee. They also have various methods and methodologies for ensuring that the workers are on time for work. If a worker is late everyday and does not show up in the office or his or her workplace, then the personnel department takes appropriate steps for this misbehavior. It is the duty of the personnel department to ensure that the company does not stand to lose due to the misconduct and indiscipline of its employees.
The HRD department of a company uses certain techniques to ensure the present and absent records of its employees. Nowadays there are state of the art latest software packages which have been designed especially for the HRD and personnel departments of companies. This software enables the personnel department to keep a check on the staff. This software enables the personnel department to implement the same without much of a problem. This software enables the departments to check whether the employees have checked in for work, there is a check on the in and out timings of the employees. The HRD department would also be able to check whether any particular employee is a frequent late comer to the office. This employee’s late coming could be a proof in case he or she needs to be fired at a later stage. The software generates a report which would give the full .picture of each and every employee and how many times in a month the employee has been late or has not turned up.
It is the responsibility of each employee to come to work religiously. The productivity of a business house depends on the individual productivity of the employee. If a person does not come to work quite frequently, the HR department is fully authorized to deploy a temporary worker in place of the employee who has not turned up that particular day. There could be instances when employees do not turn up when they are not quite well, or when they are unable to come to the office due to a personal engagement etc. But when this becomes a routine activity, then the employer has full right to take stern action against the defaulted employee. The software installed is an efficient tool to keep a check on defaulted employees. For any business to survive, keeping a check on employee’s attendance is a prerequisite. To ensure that the business is doing well, each employee should ensure that he is doing well and productive by coming to the workplace on time each day.
